i'm divorced and i have a daughter who is nearly 11. last year she watched a video in school covering upcoming body changes (which she already knew about).
but one suggestion they gave that i didn't think of was to go get femine supplies and be prepared for when the time comes.
i like being prepared ahead of time for emergencies.
Buy a pack of regular-size pads and keep them in a discreet place in her bedroom for her to access if she ever needs them when she's at your place.
And have newspaper or small plastic bags for her to wrap them in and a waste-bin in the toilet for her to put them in.
And you're a very caring Dad to be concerned about these things for her.
our friend, oompa, has passed away.
just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.
it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.
Such a tragic end of a man so full of life.

Your daughter lived - yes, thanks to very skilled doctors - so celebrate that and please don't dwell on the past. We can't change anything that has already happened. Live for the life you have now and be thankful that you are no longer enslaved to a book publishing cult.

i never believed that in 1975 or by the end of the 20th century, we would see the great tribulation occur.
some witnesses would listen to fred franz' talks where he clearly told his audience that 1975 was the end of 6000 years and the beginning of the jubilee....or something like that.. was there something that you never truly accepted that you were supposed to believe as a jehovah's witness?.
That the resurrected ones would come back to never marry and have sex.
I always understood "return as angels" to refer to those resurrected in heaven, but not to refer to those on earth.
Now, I don't believe in any of it.

Our (Australian) political campaigns are nothing like the USA's.
We have more political parties although the main ones are the Liberals/Nationals and the Labour Party.
But we don't have the argy-bargy arguments that you guys carry on with. We generally accept that people will vote one way or another, and that's their right. Arguing over politics is time-consuming and unnecessary.
Seeing you guys fighting and arguing over American politics is very amusing.

i was on the phone yesterday evening to an elderly lady friend of mine.
she's almost housebound now, (we're fighting that) but is a fiercely independent spirit.
bacpacking in south america in her 50s, teaching in the wilds of nepal, that sort of thing.
I love the sound of that lady! I'd love to hear about her travels to Nepal - I've always wanted to go there!!
The JWs called at my place yesterday. My door was open and I just called out to them, "not interested". Normally I'd try to engage them in a conversation to question them and get them thinking, but I couldn't be bothered yesterday.
he is not out yet, maybe ~ but i am not sure, sometime he refers to religion as his former religion.
sometime he says he wish that he could see things as i do.
he had a hard time struggling with his own mind when we had some heated argument over this matter so we stopped doing that for a long while.
Your bf will need to leave mentally before he can be said to really leave the religion.
Best thing is for him to read Crisis of Conscience. Very few remain JWs after reading it.
